Equity transactions

To process a transaction you need to go to your ACCOUNT OVERVIEW screen.

By clicking on the Buy or Sell button beside a Stock you will be allowed to Buy more of that specific Stock or Sell some or all shares of that specific Stock.

By clicking on the New Order button you will be allowed to Buy a new Stock that your client doesn’t possess right now, or Buy and Sell on an existing Stock within your client’s portfolio.

Buy screen:

The Recommended and Not Recommended bullets are mandatory information that you have to select on each transaction.

Please do not fill in the Trader instructions line and the Operation instructions lines as they are to be used by PEAK Operations only.

You can use the Advisor notes for your references.

This screen represents a buy for a new Stock. If it is for an existing Stock the Symbol and Security description would have been pre-populated.

While typing the letters of a stock symbol, you will see a list appear that will allow you to select with your mouse, without typing the complete symbol. If you don’t find it on the list, please refer to the section Navigation Tabs and Alert, Security Master.

In the commission section, you can get the Regular Commission information by clicking on the Get Comm button. This will populate a preset commission in line with the Stock you are buying or selling.

For Fee-based Prospera Accounts, Please select “Regular” and click on “Get comm”. The amount will show as 0. If it does not appear as $0, then it is because the account was not coded properly as a Prospera account. If this happens, please call immediately the trade desk for having it corrected.

Then if you want to change the commission, select the drop-down list as shown below and select either Prefigured $ and specify the amount in the Amount box.

We strongly suggest that you do not use the Prefigured % option as it does not work as you think. It is, in fact, the % of the regular commission that you want to use. For example, if you pick 1%, it will not charge a 1% commission over the total amount of the trade but, in fact, it will charge 1% of the regular commission, which will end up in a very small amount.

Sell screen:

As you can see the Sell screen will look similar to the Buy screen. The only difference is the color representing the order type.
