User preferences and alerts

Now it’s time for you to set up your User Preferences and Alerts.

Go to the Action drop down menu and select the User Preferences and Alerts menu. All the settings in this interactive window can be changed at any time.

The first tab is the Search Defaults.

Your Account Search Defaults for Cash Balance should be set to Trade Date Cash Balance. Your Security Master Search Defaults for Security type should be set to Equity, and for Exchanges, set to All Exchanges.

Your Order Search Defaults for Order item status is set to All Orders (except Completed), you may prefer to have it set to Filled.

Your Order Exchange should be set to All Exchanges, and your Security type set to Equity.

The second tab is the Alert Subscriptions.

This is where you indicate which alerts you wish to see during use of the program. We recommend all alerts (click the white box in the Red Alert Description title bar) for the first few uses of the program, and then remove the unwanted alerts from the list above for future uses.

You can also indicate if you prefer having your alerts by Symbol or CUSIP. We suggest that you use Symbol.

The third tab is the Print Portfolio Details.

This screen will be the one driving all the information to be included when you will require a client portfolio report.

If you select Letterhead, the Portfolio Report will print with a blank section at the top, allowing you to print on your own letterhead paper. If unselected, the Portfolio Report will print with your address. This set-up would have been done by Head-Office upon your request.

We strongly suggest that you test a variety of profiles to figure the ones that better suits your needs.

The fourth tab is the System Defaults.

Do not forget to save all your user preferences and alerts before exiting the interactive window by clicking the Save button at the bottom of the window.

You shouldn’t change anything in this screen. You may also see a last tab called CRM ATTRIBUTES. If so, do not change anything either under that TAB.
